Private first class, Leslie Edward Irving served in the military during World War I. His address at the time he enrolled in 1917 was 350 South Jackson Street, Youngstown, Ohio. His serial number was 1950411. He served in Supply Company 332 of the infantry until March of 1918 when he was transfered to Company I, 331 Infantry. On July 16 of the same year he joined Company C of the 331st, and on August 13 he joined Company C of the 28th Infantry where he remained until honorably discharged on 24 Sep 1919. He was a Wagoneer who served with the American Expeditionary Force at St.Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne. He was exposed to mustard gas on three occasions, and suffered from respiratory problems for most of his adult life.
